Day 6: Kardamyli - A Free Day to Relax

Prior to the trip, we pre-booked a half-day charter boat. Due to rain and choppy water, the tour was canceled the day before, leaving a truly free day. After sleeping in, we wandered the lovely streets, shops and rugged coastline of Kardamyli.

For Lunch, we decided on the delightful seaside restaurant, Tikla. Since we didn't have any scheduled plans for the day, we took our time. Appetizers, drinks and desserts. The food was exquisite, as was the restaurant decor and service. We're not lingerers in restaurants, this was an exception! We stayed for two hours, soaking in the serene water views, and relaxing on the thick cushioned benches and chairs. We were visited by several cats. We spent the time talking about our favorite moments of the trip and compared photos.

After our special lunch experience, we walked up to the old town. We perused the shops in the new town and explored more of the rocky coastline. Stopping and taking our time to enjoy the fresh air and peaceful ambiance.

 

The day was a much needed break. We were actually happy the boat tour was canceled. We felt renewed and ready for the rest of the trip!
